The Pissant Goblin is a compact, territorial species from the fictional Toxic Goblin Xenoverse. It survives through scavenging, petty sabotage and an exceptional tolerance for unpleasant surroundings. The species' threat is persistence: a small problem has a way of becoming the entire day's problem once Pissants get involved.
What does a Pissant Goblin look like?
Pissant Goblins usually have a squat, heavy build, oversized ears, a flattened nose, heavy brows and sparse wiry hair. Their leathery skin ranges from olive-yellow to swamp green. Powerful arms help them climb through the infrastructure they occupy.
Both male and female Pissant Goblins exist. Height, facial structure and build vary between individuals, so recognition depends on more than one physical feature. Their hostile attitude and habit of accumulating unattended property are often equally revealing.
Where do Pissant Goblins live?
Maintenance tunnels, drainage systems, loading docks, boiler rooms and abandoned industrial buildings provide their preferred surroundings. These spaces offer hiding places and discarded material without requiring much contact with whoever thinks they own the building.
An established colony can turn a neglected utility room into a settlement of stolen plumbing, mismatched furniture and scavenged appliances. A workplace plagued by missing tools, blocked drains and inexplicable equipment faults may already be sharing its premises.
Why are they called Pissants?
Their name reflects an aggressive territorial-marking habit. They also defend their territory through sabotage and persistent nuisance.
Pissants are capable of planning. They may prefer a loosened fitting that causes trouble later to an obvious act of destruction now. Their intelligence is practical, vindictive and frequently aimed at making another creature's routine more difficult.
What is a grumble?
A grumble is a loose Pissant Goblin colony. Leadership is unstable. A useful stash, a defensible hiding place or enough confidence can give one member temporary authority.
Male and female Pissants can become dominant within a grumble. Alliances shift, arguments continue and old grudges remain useful currency. A colony's inability to agree does not stop it from becoming thoroughly established.
Are Pissant Goblins the same as Runts?
No. Pissant Goblin identifies a species. Runt identifies membership in a faction of outcasts drawn from different species.

Pissants in the wider Xenoverse
Pork Goblins supply mass and strength. Robo Goblins bring mechanical resilience. Pissants make use of places other creatures neglect and problems other creatures would rather avoid.
That role gives them a recognizable place in the Xenoverse bestiary: the goblin species most at home where the plumbing, maintenance budget and management have already failed.
